Daughter with intellectual and physical disability requires supports for appointments, shopping, cooking, exercise, and sport (Family or carer experience)

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 Submission 1133

NDIS Changes

To whom It may concern

I am very concerned about the proposed changes to the NDIS and the slashing of social and community funding. My daughter is 28 years and has a permanent lifelong intellectual and physical disability since birth. She will never be able to drive or live independently.

She requires services to help her:

get to appointments,

do her weekly shopping and banking

attend disability cooking at Tafe

exercise safely to keep her mobility from getting worse

attend disability sport

She will be limited in being able to do these activities if the changes go through.

I agree that changes need to happen in the NDIS but not to people that have permanent disabilities and need it the most.

Thanks
