National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 Submission 1240
Hello.
I had a great plan at the middle of 2025, this plan supported me to be able to go out to my community and connect.
As a direct result of this ability to connect, I have developed a youth group, a amateur theatre company my disabled child will inherit, and a vegan food business.
My NDIS needed a review and during this process I lost 2/3 of my plan.
As a result of trying to maintain what the NDIS helped me build, I have been injured from exhaustion twice now and am more physically disabled needing therapies as a result.
I went to tribunal and was treated so badly I feel traumatised, battling to have the simplest of dignified supports granted.
I am exiting the tribunal with my needs unfulfilled in the hope I can get support by connecting with the minister and the ombudsman.
Taking away social supports directly has affected my ability to run the youth group which is on hold, I’ve had to halve my business to cope, as am still trying to get the theatre company to function.
It has affected, me and all those I connect with in my community and caused me injury from falls from exhaustion.
Please don’t cut supports. It affects whole communities, small business, youth, young disabled adults needing supports from their disabled parents as well as the individual.
Thankyou.
