National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 Submission 128 Hi my name is I’m 42 and have an intellectual disability along with Severe Anxiety and depression .. I joined the ndis in 2014. Which required me to submit reports and evidence by my gp. I’ve had very little drama on the ndis. I am great full for the the supports that I receive. The ndis took into account all aspects and circumstances. These proposed changes will hurt people with disabilities. The functional capacity assessment process only looks at one aspect of a person. When all aspects and circumstances need to be considered when someone is assessed. I don’t believe that An automated system will be fair and reasonable. I also think that kicking 160.000 people off ndis is not the solution as there is no other supports available.
National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 Submission 128 Personally for me. Without the supports I receive i would not have a job I would not be able to attend day programs. I would be unemployed and would have nothing to do. It would cause my depression to spiral. And things would get much worse.
If the government wants to reign in ndis spending try looking at what providers charge participants for services etc … Providers that do the wrong thing by participants need to be accountable.
