Opposes bill changes to individual funding and plans

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 Submission 1306

Dear Senate Committee for Community Affairs,

Whilst I recognise there are issues within NDIS and its sustainability, I am appalled by the changes proposed in this NDIS amendment bill 2026 that allow the Minister to make changes to an individual’s funding and plans for supports without explanation or right to appeal. This is unconstitutional and once again disadvantaging an already marginalised and vulnerable population within our society.

The proposed advantages (choice, freedom, equality, inclusion) for bringing in the NDIS over 10 years ago are now being proposed to be removed and with that you are taking away the rights of the population of people who should be our greatest priority in caring and advocating for.

I plead with the Senate committee to not support this NDIS amendment bill 2026. Do not be part of marginalising an already marginalised and vulnerable population.

Kind regards,
