Concerns regarding reduced access to social supports and capacity building (Participant experience)

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 1403

My Experience With the NDIS

The NDIS has completely changed my life and given me the support I need to live safely and independently with 24- hour care. Because of the support funded through the NDIS, I was able to move out of a group home into a situation better suited to meet all aspects: needs/wellbeing/quality-of-life. Having consistent support workers/ community participation/capacity building helped gain more independence/confidence/stability in everyday life.

Concerns About Proposed Changes To The NDIS

Concerning proposed changes because they could reduce access vital supports people rely on every day: If social/community access capacity-building were reduced/removes major impact/independence mental health/safety quality-of-life. Theses not luxuries essential allowing disabilities participate society/dignity.

Worry For Future Generations Of People With Disabilities Without Adequate Funding And Access Services Many May Never Get Opportunity Move Out Unsuitable Living Arrangements Build Independence Or Live Fulfilling Lives Within Their Communities. NDIS provides opportunities that can change someone’s future important these remain accessible those who most.
