National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment
I write to express my concerns about the changes to the NDIS.
I have a range of concerns.
The NDIS has been life changing for my daughter redacted Down Syndrome Prior to the NDIS She Was Enrolled At **Redacted And Then at Redacted After A Total Of 11 Years My Daughter Had The Exact Same Capacity That She Had When She First enrolled At Age ! As Result Of The Ndis Slowly But Purposely Began To Build Capacitv And I Am So Proud ThaT SHE Is Now Working Days Week CAPE Where She Using All Skills She Has Accumulated Over Her NDis Experience In Short Is Massive Success Story One Government Should Be proud OF As result oF The NDis Is No Longer isolated Depressed Sitting Home She Happy Well Connected Engaged Young Person As A ResulT OOf The NDIs Finally Dared Believe That She Would Fine Time Comes For Me Leave This Earth But Proposed Changes Have Put All Jeopardy Cannot Understand Why Messaging Been So “one Net Catches all” Recent Budget and Commentary Causing Unnecessary High Levels Angst Point Negligence Living With disability Hard Enough Without Having New Unecessary high Level angst. FOR , reducing supports that set her up succeed can only be described as utterly cruel It taken years get all her Supports in place now there risk dismantling things brought her where she is now Just don’t understand why ndis would dismantle success story. My daughter still experiences access barriers daily basis with expertise support coordinator manages best life finding balance between Support independence Mental health significantly better enjoys visits into community (and have advised by her support workers members of the Community enjoy engaging my Daughter just much) Surely this what ndis was set up achieve feel changes not explained clearly enough Indeed feel messaging caused unnecessary angst distress.

I don’t actually know how we can handle the changes because how does one recover from life as redacted knows it to one without the current supports? To me that is absolutely cruel. To understand, there are people on the NDIS should be excluded; however, surely governments could do better at narrowing down specific individuals targeted while providing reassurance to others who aren’t included.
