National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

I am a 22yo disabled woman living in regional Western Australia. I need support with showering and verbal communication. I object to the Bill because I want to choose who provides support to me.I do NOT want a random stranger touching my body when I need help. This is repugnant, and the NDIS should not be able to say who provides my supports.

I think it is stupid that a Minister with little to no experience or lived knowledge of disability gets to make the range of decisions he will be able to make if this Bill goes through. Totally dumb.

I am also angry because I took part in the Disability Royal Commission all those years ago, and telling my story was intrusive and traumatic, and now these reforms ignore everything that the DRC recommended. I think this Bill is disgusting with its proposals for how disabled people should live.

I totally reject this Bill, it is horrible. Why doesn’t the Government as US what our lives and supports should look like. I feel like a monkey in a circus - like I have to jump on command.
