Submission 1428 My name is [redacted], and I have worked as an independent disability support worker for the past four years and the positive impact this work has had on my life is beyond measure. I also have close personal relationships with several people with intellectual disabilities and as such understand the NDIS professionally. In reference to my job role supporting clients’ activities like outings or workplace attendance would lose funding which strips thousands from income making ends meet unless prices drop significantly due economic climate changes affecting rent groceries bills petrol etc., supporting others through formal systems joy stability fulfillment, cutting funds means loss not just financial but entire lives without understanding their importance in daily routines simple steps driving reading menus ordering picking up drinking coffee creating connections friends human connection all aspects of one outing fall under social & communit access funding cutting these funds disconnects them from support systems friends humanity no fight needed basic rights everyone deserves ups downs friendships impacts socialisation life overall it’s important that any change be viewed though lens peoples disabled lives independence purpose happiness every person should experience those things we value highly need sustainable NDIS cuts community access unsustainable both workers participants alike please reconsider these cuts.
