National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 1486
To whom it may concern
I have four young children; one child is registered under ASD Level 2 due to depression services provided via NDIS. Another child also has ASD at level two along with psychosocial service needs from my own diagnosis of ASD-level-two intellectual disability as well being diagnosed myself recently too! My husband works full-time long hours bringing home an income which isn’t much while I’m unable work because our son doesn’t attend school regularly due his behaviors plus appointments needed both him & me/my daughter together. The NDSS has been amazing helping all these aspects including mental health issues everyday! It’s physically and emotionally challenging especially those without autism spectrum disorder who bear most brunt thereof—including me daily dealing aggression anger suicidal threats meltdowns breaking things or even refusing schooling altogether if support were removed what would happen then? If i no longer had access routine medical appointment will those health concerns escalate needing treatment later more expensively through public hospitals? When people lose emotional regulation assistance participating safely in community do police become new behavior practitioners instead? Will Medicare now be funding Mental Health Care Plans every person within your family included? you’ve forgotten mentioning slamming us participants on the ndis media when every dollar spent $3 goes back into economy.
