Good evening, I would like to address changes impacting independent support workers.
I have provided care over 3 years; my advocate supports NDIS ‘registered’ providers choosing independently when possible due to trouble there being delusional in thinking $10k sole operators should pay to register fraud prevention. The paramedic’s experience highlights dedication but faces similar registration costs as large employers, leading them possibly leaving an industry where they can’t afford such fees compared to others employing multiple staffs. My concern: Simplify processes for individuals avoiding unnecessary expenses. Participants fear losing top-quality support workers every day; powerful figures must engage directly seeking participant input on impactful decisions affecting daily life significantly. Every independent worker is more committed than a provider, driven not just financially or professionally.

Submission 1520 Please don’t force us out. NDIS ‘registered’ means nothing. If you want to talk fraudsters, it’s the registered providers that are the main culprits. Since I’ve started investigating consultants to help with a registration process, I’ve been inundated with sharks hassling me to send them money this week so they can ‘get the process started’, only to find they are the biggest scammers out there - so this process is also fraught with extra pressure as we can’t afford to pay money to multiple companies for them to not deliver the service we have paid for which will ultimately impact people with disabilities. And don’t get me started on the costs involved in specialist report writing that the NDIS demand, only for them to dispute that of the specialist. You want to know where tax payers’moneyisgoingthereistjustoneavenuethatshouldbeinvestigated. Please,don’tmakeraashdecisions.Pleasereconsideratatanytime,thiscouldbeyouorafamilymemberneedingthesupportoftheNDIS.Thankyouforyour time.
