Dear NDIS Minister, I am writing to urgently bring to your attention an alarming and deeply concerning trend occurring in recent NDIS plan reviews affecting individuals living in Supported Independent Living (SIL) group homes. These individuals profoundly disabled with lifelong physical medical conditions deteriorate age facing unjust detrimental funding cuts threaten wellbeing dignity.I currently manage group home providing support four residents significant physical medicaledisabilities all face progressive decline grow older Among them lady born spina bifida resulting paraplegia full-time wheelchair dependence She non-verbal suffers serious swallowing difficulties high risk dysphagia Over years health has deteriorated point where she requires assistance daily activities Her care demands staff ratios most care needs often reducing ratio supervision alone required Given profound nature her disabilities ongoing decline unreasonable unacceptable that her support funding should cut Yet during last NDIS plan review drastic reduction imposed The planner incorrectly assumed potential improvement authorised step-down plan projecting significant funding over next three Furthermore recommended undergo independent medical reassess capabilities diagnosis action unnecessary demeaning This approach flagrantly disregards human rights highlights current flaws within system Such a reduction directly hampers SIL provider ability deliver necessary care If these persist may be forced cease services altogether Befuses critical question this meant live expected survive without support certain never intended act cruel arbiter trampling on the dignity of vulnerable As Minister responsible for NDIS implore you intervene personally overturn callous unjust decisions Situation clear violation social justice, human rights principles upon which founded imperative making funding people complex profound disabilities integrity compassion respect their lifelong care needs Thank urgent attention to matter Kind regards
