National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 1581

To those considering cuts to the NDIS

I am writing to you because several years ago, I was in the Canberra Hospital— -I was there for almost three months, -with two weeks at Bruce Hospital adding up to total hospitalization. No this is not about complaining but rather wishing never go back again due kindness shown during stay despite agitation caused from being watched around clock as suicide risk. The experience taught how bad things can get when under constant surveillance while using restroom. Still struggling against thoughts towards ending life; it’s my cat who kept me alive through its presence until it died later on lung cancer leaving behind grief over creature that saved so many lives before passing away.

Pushing through Draconian ASIO compulsory questioning powers, paying for foreign armies to set up camp on Australian soil, supporting Trump’s wars and spending billions on war machines, while Australians go without cost of living relief, housing, welfare increases, and proper NDIS support, are policies I would have expected more of a Liberal government and not from the supposedly more moderate Labour government–these are not the actions of the party I voted for. Nor are they what Labour is supposed to stand for—worker’s rights unions and fair go for ALL Australians They feel more like slow slide into fascism And must ask all Labour MPs do these actually align with your personal morals Are things truly believe in These were wanted when joined labour rather than liberal? There old saying going about attributed sorts people wording changes according purpose used goes something this you can judge society way treats most vulnerable members. Australia worth testing now Fear will come wanting.
