is willing to address the cost shifting that causes it; significant amounts will continue being wasted in ways like described. Currently costing around $52 billion annually with a multiplier effect returning approximately $2\u{3b} per dollar spent on running NDIs; cost-wise having them saves money and improves quality-of-life among those affected, saving or returning funds back into economy while helping increase their standard living conditions when considering blowouts costs. The government has failed addressing corporate tax dodgers who cost country roughly between thirty-to-fifty billions dollars yearly due to cost-shifting practices alone which caused eleven-billion-dollar losses within just one year— in financial years from ’23-’24, federal spending reached up to 80 million USD barristers representing NDIs civil appeals court cases increased significantly to 90+ millions, an eye-watering amount of resources squandered unnecessarily since courts don’t require legal representation. Approximately seventy-eight percent overturned decisions favor clients/families confirming deliberate obstruction preventing access required supports by families. The government is wasting huge sums trying obstruct services/accesses funding instead. Carers have been distressed long time now, we’ve made this clear there’s no system diagnose treat carer burnout/autistic burnout I’ve battled both types decade-long unable function consistently physical mental health deteriorating can’t access regular respite so the govt pays for emergency room trips instead false economising comes later bite whole nation more than preventative care such as respite.
Because NDIS lacks accountability duty-care they allow leaving clients in horrific circumstances months-years at once compounding harm resulting regression or worsening condition severely crisis treatment stabilisation becomes expensive destabilizing client inadvertently rather helping supporting them psychosocial disability makes engaging with agency difficult point where feel physically ill speaking someone from it, government has chosen not introduce actual safeguards protect us these harms current “safeguards” exist just tools justify ration costs safeguard money already deaths due funding cuts two young Australians died when decided cut 24-7 breathing tube monitoring first example springs mind disability service should never cause people become more disabled even die if government does not IMMEDIATELY address this you are comfortable harming potentially killing more people There’s other way interpret it at present need answers why sees significant harm loss life acceptable consequences proposed reforms.
