Concerns regarding NDIS Amendment Bill's impact on disability rights

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 176

to the Senate Community Affairs Councils,

I write to express grave concerns regarding the NDIS Amendment Bill in its current form. I work alongside a disability advocate and understand that this Bill, if enacted, will remove rights and reduces choice and control for people with disability.

The NDIS should protect people with disability - if the system is failing, removing rights for those with disability is not the solution. Private operators doing the wrong thing need to be made accountable. But the actual people the system is supposed to serve needs more, not less, funding. Improve the checks and balances in place so that processes can be thoroughly scrutinized, but keep funding the NDIS adequately so that those with a disability are “not worse off” as the Labor government promised.

Thank you for considering this submission.

In good faith, Olivia Brozecki
