Future Generations Bill 2026

I live in NSW and am a mother of eight children. I am a carer for my youngest child as he has special needs due to his moderate-severe intellectual disability, complete reliance on tube feeding, his incontinence and other medical complexities. He also has Trisomy 21.

I am writing today to ask for your support in opposing the Future Generations bill until amendments arere made.I have grave concerns about the bill allowing the Minister to cut50%of socialand community participation funding anda potential powerto cutother areas offunding without review. The nearevaluationsandslossreviewrights arealso problematic.NDIShas supportedmy sonin manyways overthe yearsandanndmade speechanandoctational therapy possibleaswellassupportinghis high needs retubefeedingandincontinencc.Wehavealsoreceivedfundingforsocialanda ndcommunityparticipationwhichwillopenhishoworldfrombeing familya nhome-centrictobiggeropportunitiesandasuccesseswhilegivinghimthesupporthisheeds.However,cuts tese funds willdiminishmyson’s opportunities.Hissiblingsarburnoutwith caring,m yhusband an dIbothsufferchronicpainconditionsandleimitedinsupporthiminthecommunity.Mysonsofuturecould wellbedeterminedbythese cutsandonourpotential inability toe appealdue thisbill. Our lives a fullbusy especially so withthefulltimecare oursonneedsNDISplansaredemandingandexhaustingbutthenew amendment adds immediate compromises tousons’ support, uncertain repercussions at any time and indefinite-to-impossible waysappeal for reviews.Again,I ask you vot against Future Generations bil until safeguards and certainties can be ensured.
