The Australian Government Guide to Policy Impact Analysis says: consultation should occur for a minimum of 30 days where possible. The short timeline impacts me by putting undue pressure on my nervous system.Trying to find out how even upload submission has taken several hours, because when I am under stress dense text very difficult read understand.I can feel pressing needs work children household physical body mental health taking backseat. If had more time would cause additional harm but seems operate. You say one thing then do opposite leaving participants confused demoralised worse off in terms wellbeing.Very few people who are NDIS participant disabled willing anywhere near process due significant trauma obtained through interactions registered providers rorting harming line pockets.Recommendation Amend consultation period best practice minumim Key decisions left ministerial instruments law The issue Bill allows Ministers change gets NDIS support (Schedule Parts and )how much funding receive(Schedule Part ; Schedule)signing instrument without going Parliament rules determine critical eligibility thresholds have not yet written. How this affects participants: Decisions shape lives participants qualify access supports until plan affected.
National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment
Submission 1793 This leaves participants and our families at risk of decreased essential supports in terms of assistance with self-care as well as participation in community life. When we are invisible locally—which seems like what’s being aimed here—it becomes easier just to push aside these needs further down priority lists. What isn’t visible gets erased; devalued into isolation which worsens health outcomes & wellbeing—ultimately costing government money because those issues need solutions soon! Recommendation: Require all decisions affecting NDIS eligibility/funding levels be made through primary law subject to full parliamentary scrutiny—with mandatory advance notice given affected parties before changes take effect.
Existing Participants Face Narrower Criteria And Fewer Rights To Challenge Decisions
The issue: The Bill alters rules for existing NDIS participants making it harder challenge some support funding decisions. It also restricts when you can request a reassessment, removes review rights from automatic plan renewals—and makes funding reductions unreviewable [Schedule I Parts (1)8]. Combined restrictions on re-assessments requests Part2), auto-plan renewal without reviews (Part5), plus un-reviewable fund cuts (part4)—existing folks face narrower criteria significantly fewer ways challenging their support decisions. How this affects participants: This doesn’t protect already-NDIS-participants who could get stricter assessments under new rules! If someone’s funds cut or plans renewed automatically they may have limited/no ability contest that decision. Making it tougher people access extra help if circumstances change/disability evolves. as an NDIS participant current legislation has impacted me so the proposed bill would make everything worse and more widespread across population requiring continual proof at significant personal expense of

How this affects participants:
If the assessment tool does not accurately capture the full extent of a person’s disability, including needs that fluctuate or vary over time, a participant may be found ineligible or have their supports undercounted. With no guarantee the result reflects their actual experience.
