National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 Submission 1843
SUBMISSION TO THE SENATE COMMUNITY AFFAIRS COMMITTEE NDIS FUTURE GENERATIONS BILL 2026
A BETRAYAL OF DISABLED AUSTRALIANS
My name is , I am disgusted with the governments proposed changes to the NDIS.
This bill is nothing short of an attack on the dignity, autonomy, and basic human rights of people with disabilities. The proposed changes are not just “unfair”- they are dangerous, discriminatory and morally indefensible.
The NDIS was meant to liberate disabled Australians from the shadows of institutional neglect. Now, this government wants to drag us backwards-back to a time when disabled people were treated as burdens, locked away, silenced, and abused. Is that the future you want? Because that’s what this passing this Bill will do.
I IMPORE THE COMMITTEE TO: X REJECT these cruel cuts to social and community participation-disability is not a crime to be punished with isolation. X GUARANTEE the right to appeal decisions - no person or government body should have unchecked power over someone’s life. X PROTECT choice and control-let disabled people decide who supports them, whether registered or unregistered.
This isn’t just policy. This is lives, real people like my niece Melanie, my brother John, my 2 great nieces Jade & Armani and so many others who will suffer, who will be
erased from society if these changes pass.
DON’T LET THAT HAPPEN.
STOP THIS BILL. STAND W ITH DISABLED AUSTRALIANS.
