National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 1876 - Supplementary Submission
I am worried about the changes
I am worried and I am anxious and I am freaking out.
This has affected me as I am autistic and I am disabled and life wasn’t fair and it was wrong and it should never happened.
I want this to help me get through the day and night and to have the ability to look after my mother since she is unwell at the moment.
And also to the fact that this new bill will affect my ability to take care of my mother and being able to work and to look after my family.
And to be able to leave the house. Because it wasn’t safe for Asian women right now due to racial abuse and it wasn’t safe for us Asian ladies.
I mean being autistic and Asian is hard as it is. As I am anxious, worried and I am upset.
It is unfair for a lot of people like me, especially given the circumstances, it is immoral and you are not thinking about the consequences and the here after and the stuff that it was left behind for women with a disability in years to come and unfortunately, we Asian women with a disability have to suffer, in the hands of another bad decision. And that is unacceptable.
It is unfair that I was fend for myself with no help, no support, no assistance and we Asian ladies, we face it much harder because of other people’s expectations, and other people tell us on how to live our lives and we have been controlled and we have been trapped. And we Asian ladies had no power
We often had men in making decisions for us. We had people in the community in making decisions on our behalf without warning. And our decisions and our ability to live our lives will be gone. And I was sick, devastated and angry with the fact that this could be a lot worst and it affects us women, it’s because we had to work, look after our family and our parents and I am very concerned about this. I am very concerned that we may not be able to seek support for when we actually needed help and you are making it a lot harder for us, as we have suffered mentally and emotionally and financially and we have suffered enough. It’s because we are invisible and you didn’t see our suffering and our pain enough, to even bear it.
And we lived it all our lives, it’s because of racism and masking and having to live a lie to please society and we’ve been through ableism.
And it is not fair that our needs have not been considered. There are women in our community that needed more support.
Please make the eligibility a lot easier and accessible for women with a disability and especially for Asian women. Please make it easier for us. Have it in plain language. And also have it in other languages and have it in Easy Read as well.

And whatever you do with us, is please consult and listen to our concerns.
And please make it easy for us.
Because we Asian ladies, we do not have the time or the energy
And we are tired, we are exhausted
And we do not have many hours of the day in overexplaining.
We just need clear and simple instructions in both English, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean or other languages so we don’t have to and make it easier for us women.
We had no time at all and I want you to please make it easier.
Please do not put us in any unnecessary trauma because this hurts the most and this triggers the pain
And we need someone who have the lived experience to be able to assist us in the process because the truth is that it is too hard and it’s too traumatic and too painful and too tiring.
We need someone to help us to get through the process to ensure that no one should have to literally suffer for when they are applying it and they should making it easier for us Asian women with a disability to access the NDIS, easier, faster and accessible and it must be done according to our needs because what you are doing is deemed too disrespectful and everything must be done accordingly to the demand of what the community needs. And allow us women in being in the forefront in making decisions and being able to choose. Because the truth of all this, is that we Asian women should have the rights and we should have the choice.
It’s ridiculous and we ladies should have the power in making choices and in taking control of her life.
And we should have the right to do so and we should and it is unfair that you are making it too complicated and too difficult and too unreasonable for us Asian women and I want you to please do the right thing and listen to us woman because we are worried and we are all freaking out everyday.
