National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission on the NDIS Amendment Bill
I prefer to remain anonymous for this submission. I am a disabled participant who acquired their disability ten years ago after paying taxes for twenty-six years. The NDIS funds increase one’s functionality, allowing me both through GST contributions from hiring support workers as well as doing occasional work when abilities fluctuate permit it; without such assistance being more reliant than necessary would have occurred with mobility aids or spending significantly less money annually towards support worker costs over time; such reliance does not diminish pride in independence but rather acknowledges dependence on NDIS services enabling greater functionality toward achieving goals including raising children alone while contributing meaningfully back into society overall view regarding proposed legislation opposes its implementation due primarily increased administrative burden compliance demands, tasks taking longer and becoming increasingly difficult compared prior ability post-disability also increasing pain levels necessitating medication which further impacts capabilities.

Increased use of administrative or automated systems
I am concerned that the Bill may increase reliance on standardised or system-driven decision-making processes. Humans need to be carefully helping to make decisions in this process, as no computer system will be able to understand the nuances of every disability every person’s functional ability in all sectors of their life.My disability means that canbe worse some days have increased function other days.A computerized assessment will unable gain full picture drastically affected since acquired.I want Commission individualised plans need be one those whose’functional fluctuates worsens workload leaving unable ongoing employment relying NDIS keep functional level survive life.Commission also needs people involved at stepprocess including participant feedback input since they know best anyone. We’re different. In its current form,I don’t support bill.ask Committee review considering lived experience.
