National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 1926 I am a disabled person myself however I am not a user of NDIS funding.
My main concern about this Bill is that people will not be able to access their needed support and support will be overly cut back. This Bill may affect me / people I support because many of my friends rely on NDIS funding or general disability support to be able to function within society. Cutting funding will restrict them from participating within society to their best ability. What I want the committee to understand is this is incredibly dangerous as written. Clarity and compassion is needed due to the sheer amount of Australians who rely on NDIS funding. My position on this Bill: I have serious concerns because a lot of the language of this bill is very loosely worded. Some of the wording isn’t clear and goes back on itself later in the bill. Such as when you say that funding will be cut but individuals will need to show full reasoning for funding. So will those aspects be funded or will they still have funding reduced?
