As the mother of a child with cerebral palsy I am very aware of the need to cut NDIS expenditure. Not only am I aware, but I am strongly supportive of CLEAR and MEASURED change to make the programme sustainable.

The reason I am writing is that I am terrified by the auto assessment tool that is touted to be introduced. With the dire Robodebt tragedy still ringing in people’s minds, I want to stress the need for taking the disability assessments on a case by case basis.

I am nervous that some process that is neither nuanced nor in-depth is going to assess my adult son’s level of required assistance.
