National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 Submission 1960
As the mother of a child with cerebral palsy I am ve1y aware of the need to cut NDIS expenditure. Not only am I aware, but I am strongly suppo1iive of CLEAR and MEASURED change to make the programme sustainable. The reason I am writing is that I am tenified by the auto assessment tool that is touted to be introduced. With the dire Robodebt tragedy still ringing in people’s minds, I want to stress the need for taking the disability assessments on a case by case basis. I am nervous that some process that is neither nuanced nor in-depth is going to assess my adult son’s level of required assistance. Please make this move carefully!
