Opposing NDIS bill due to risk of social isolation, homelessness, and injury

Dear Department of Senate

My name is and I have a family member who is an NDIS participant.

I am writing to you to today to oppose the NDIS Future Generations Bill 2026 as announced as part of the federal budget and tabled in parliament.

I am opposing the following;

  • Cuts to social and community participation
  • The criteria around permanence and “appropriate treatments”
  • The new functional capacity test and reassessment of all participants
  • The pushing of NDIS participants back to other schemes/supports

I am asking you to reconsider the blanket proposal to cut funding across all participants and look at participants as individuals which was the intent of the NDIS.

My family member will be at risk of social isolation, homelessness and injury if she does not have the hours and supports in place that she needs to live her life.
