Submission 1983 — Name Withheld — NDIS Future Generations Bill

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 Submission 1983

To whom it may concern,

I would like to express my deep concerns around the proposed NDIS 2026 bill.

I was only able to attend one of my best friends’ funerals this week because of the supports that I am still receiving because of the NDIS. I was grateful to be able to attend in person and express my sympathies to her Husband, Daughter and family.

The exhaustion that fighting against the systems in place has already cost my dear friend her life. For another friend the stress and lack of available supports means she is now facing the prospect of open heart surgery.

I am trying to fight for my family and everything we have already lost.

There is no real help available and I am worried the stress of what I am facing is going to cost me what little I have left of both my mental and physical health.

I have no choice but to try because my children need help they cannot get and so do I.

To further reduce our funding and create more obstacles, add further delays and add unobtainable objectives into an already complicated system is going to kill more of us much sooner.

We are already dying from the last lot of changes that were rolled out and we dont need to deal with more trauma while also trying to manage even fewer supports.

I will have to send an additional email to my local Minister to elaborate as the limited time frame for submissions is just another obstacle being added.

Please listen to the disabled community as your choices are literally life or death to many of us and we deserve to have both, a reasonable quality of life and an NDIS that is affordable but also built to suits our needs.

Nothing About Us, Without Us needs to mean more to you than a catchy slogan.
