To the Community Affairs Legislation Committee, I am writing this submission with the assistance of a support worker. I am an NDIS participant with psychosocial disability and I have been on the NDIS since approximately 2022. as someone with psychosocial disability or invisible disability every step journey applying ndis participating ndis has incredibly challenging i experienced providers medical professionals lac’s NDIA staff doubt pushback reject idea had disability was needs everything struggle these proposed cuts will undeniably make day life function measurably worse seem cruel unnecessary cutting social civic community participation makes it clear expected spend each day staring wall television taking away capacity building means less time our OTs help plan work their support workers teach them how to help us language gets because cant afford speech therapist The government convinced ridiculous lies exaggeration that pays movies bowling whatever other leisure activity despite knowing full well does not pay those things supports hold hand act guide protector helps participate difficulties challenges It true total amount participants higher than expected part literally underestimated percentage Australians living disabilities insufficient support Higher costs NDIS rorting fraud by participants know they’re working people reduced capacity don’t understand navigate systems easily taken advantage easy target blame immigrants welfare payments etc But victims perpetrators could probably call hyperbole proof pudding simply changes result deaths Participants give up slip through cracks quality lives drop point ending more appealing continuing previous liberal Robotdebt cost Australian taxpayers Commonwealth over billion dollars If changes go ahead unaltered state future government possibly this one be down similar situation dealing class action law suit crying mothers fathers friends family fronting evening news about child loved who couldn’t cope anymore Clear need change scheme disputable measured fair changes brutal cut Horrific Labor party battlers in need considering legislation like
