Submission to the NDIS Bill 2026
My submission articulates that this consultation process isn’t fair or valid; thus needs recommencing appropriately.
In just six working days (which seems insufficient), hundreds of pages must be reviewed—largely written in convoluted legalese? Many individuals affected require communication supports but none shows such support being provided. Due diligence requires reading all content within given timeframe—and as someone who’s not one accessing NDLS directly, it’s impossible with current conditions! The submissions website claims commitment ensuring everyone participating can do so freely: Where are forms available via Easy English? or even tokenistic ‘Easy Read’ still above literacy levels many impacted face? Many lack skills navigating demands presented online. Anyone familiar actual accessibility knows how inaccessible our consultation truly feels! Rushing legislation through without adequate consideration impacts negatively: they don’t have enough time to review contents thoroughly nor access measures needed ensure consent accessible—is disgraceful and discriminatory. This is neither co-design real consultation nor fair at all. I write without further info about proposed bill changes myself an allied health business owner stretched beyond limits due years prize freezes eroding ability keep lights on. you need provide realistic timelines stop excluding disabled people from processes involved. is a farce.
