Before accessto NDIS woke up every day first thought mind was ‘can’t this’.Mental health trashed.my husband carer experienced severe burnout unable continue working. He unwell couldn’t apply help Centrelink. Most year had no income trying everything keep family from falling apart but unravelling.Process getting on ndis horrible.Applied both girls same time heard back about one them. When enquired months later, record other daughter’s ndis application email confirming received.Eventually four us able access supports.Slowly sure our familys live turned around. No longer wake thinking can’t this while tough developed capacity work hrs week haven’t worked since children.Since son has been able develop strengths.daughter’s mental health gotten better and independence slowly grown.Believe that disabilities proposed consider mild or moderate disability will kicked off the NDIS.Scared means family go backwards again.Value being choose appropriate beneficial to family. If taken state run community supports we’ll lose choice control is tenants ofndis.I agree needs made sustainable all reports people need provide for accessing ndis fund maintain are waste money especially planners themselves admit don’t read most times anyway. However against change use ICAN tool decide access. We’ve seen Robodebt scandal terrible things computer decides fate.Doubt technology used smooth processes real people with compassion worried disabled families wellbeing than KPIsand spending reduction.

I am against the proposed change that will mean the Minister will have the power to cut funding without appeal (€; s4A). The old saying rings true ‘absolute power corrupts absolutely’. While this is clearly not absolute power, it is definitely more power than any one person should ever have without there being any ability to appeal the decision. Maybe the current Minster would use this power with the best intentions or even after them. But we cannot know if future Ministers might also misuse their powers intentionally as well unintentionally due to lack of checks on such authority within democratic systems where too much concentration leads towards corruption rather than good governance practices which could lead into abuse over time unless properly regulated through proper legal frameworks like having an independent judiciary system etc., The whole point behind democracy lies exactly upon acknowledging fact about how dangerous concentrating all sorts of authorities in single hands can be leading us away from principles based approach instead favoring arbitrary decisions made out of personal biases and interests, Pleas amend bill so fair just appeals process included.
