NDIS Bill Senate Submission

NDIS Future Generations Bill 2026

My name is redacted, I am a single disabled mother of two disabled children and all three of us are NDIS participants. The NDIS has been life changing for all of us and without the multiple supports we all receive, myself and my children would not have survived 7 months of homelessness in 2025. I do not support this bill or any of the changes to the NDIS. For myself, personally, I am able to attend physiotherapy, hydrotherapy that support and help manage my multifaceted lifelong disabilities. I’m also able to do grocery shopping and attend multiple medical appointments for myself andmy children.I’malso supported witha cleanerandgardenerwhich alleviates ahuge amountof physical strainon measiam unabletodothesetasks. For mychildren ithas meant beingsupportedby OT’s,socialworkers, speech therapists which helpswith self-regulation,behaviours ,schoolattendance, lifeskills anda partofofthe community.Ifthisbillpasses, mymyselfchildrenhaveahigh possibilityof losingour plansandalosingaccesscommunityandsupports, this willhavesignificant impact onus asafamily,Iwillendupinhospitalunabletocareandasupportmychildrendweallknowtheproblemsystemis overflowinganda bleto cope at thistime let alone when they government strips people’splans away and thiswillocausethe deathsdisabledpeoplein our communities does themgovernment want this happen? so if my plan or my children’s plans were stripped away I won’t be able to afford any of what our NDIS plans provide us. I understand there is fraud being committed but the vast majority is by providers and the three biggest plan managers not the participants. I may also remind the committee there is fraud committed in ALL systems, so why isn’t the government going after that fraud? I would also like to remind the committee that the NDIS makes money and that 25% tax on taxing gas corporations would help fund ongoing funding because people don’t suddenly stop being disabled or becoming disabled. I need the committee to understand that the government demonising and throwing disabled people and the disability community under the bus and it is abhorrent and absolutely disgusting. We deserve to be able to access the world and live our lives fully supported. Nothing about us without us. Thank you for taking the time to read my submission. Kind Regards, redacted
