National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 Submission 2100
My name is , I live in in Central QLD.
I am on the spectrum and although I have never applied for the NDIS, I am surrounded in my community by families and individuals who desperately need the NDIS to be maintained, and improved, instead of cruelly cut down. This change is motivated not by waste, or reform, but a callous disregard for the lives of disabled people, their families, and the workers who support them so they can live, and live more rewarding lives.
Waste is a manufactured excuse for a brutal austerity policy that will create a new robodebt style tragedy in our nation - on a far larger scale.
This entire process was based on misinformation - a lie of omission that frames the NDIS as wasteful in a sea of massively costly spending on everything from to sending Donald Trump hundreds of Billions of Dollars for submarines we’ll never get, to propping up multinationals and Billionaires by making the taxpayer fund their operations.
This government also refuses to raise revenue, by refusing to tax the gas or other measures that would generate tens of billions of dollars a year in revenue.
This false frame forces disabled people and families to be held to vastly more rigid standards than the multinationals that are given hundreds of billions of dollars by the Australian taxpayer through subsidies, tax cuts, and more.
It also ignores the role of profit taking in the costs of the NDIS, and other sham for-profit models for essential services.
If you want a system to run well and affordably, stop building it with the goal of your mates taking a cut.
Despite this, the NDIS provides massive economic stimulus - delivering around $2.25 for the economy every $1 spent - which will also be damaged by cuts that reduce the positive impact, while maintaining profit-taking in the system.
Workers will be fired, families will collapse, but the for profit model will continue, and the providers will make donations to Canberra politicians.
Any bill of this sort is deeply harmful, will cause severe social and economic damage, and must not be passed or supported in any way.

Families who are barely getting by will be torn down by these cuts.
Little kids with hearts full of love and hope will be cruelly abused by these cuts.
Workers in our community - who do their work with professionalism and care - will be sacked and taken advantage of by these cuts.
Local economies will suffer the vicious double tap assault of families being wrecked, and workers being laid off.
Local communities will bear the scars of families who have endured through so much, only to be crushed under the weight of a system that was already a massive burden on them.
The big businesses that profit from the disabled will continue to profit after these cuts - just like the businesses that make massive profits in aged care, employment services, child care, and more - profit taking from essential services are the real “rorts” in our economy.
If this bill is passed, and there is justice in the world, the government and every single politician who votes for these cuts will face dire consequences. As will every journalist, lobbyist, and party apologist who has once again thrown vulnerable people under the bus. None of you should be anywhere near power. Our nation should learn the lesson of the sham investigation into robodebt, and ensure appropriate legal liability for those engineering this tragedy. We can all see what you’re doing, and we’re disgusted.
Stop the cuts.
