Submission regarding the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill
To whom it may concern, I am writing as a participant who has been on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) for over seven years. During this time, I have experienced both positive and negative aspects of the scheme. While the NDIS has provided important supports and opportunities, there are still significant areas where improvements are needed, particularly for people who are blind or vision impaired.

Submission 2129 In addition, there should be greater support available for disability-related conferences, meetings, leadership programs, advocacy events, and community gatherings. The opportunities are important for learning, networking, self-advocacy, professional development, and community connection. Many people with disability face financial barriers in attending these events, particularly when travel, accommodation, support workers or accessibility requirements involve.
