I am writing to express my strong opposition to the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment Bill in its current form.I urge the Committee to reject or heavily amend this Bill based on the following concerns.Erosion of Choice:I do not agree with this bill taking the decision making power awayfrom the person who understands their disability best!Funding Reductions:I strongly disagree with the broad budget suggested powers thatthreaten to leave complex, fluctuating conditions without adequate safety nets.Lack of Guardrails:I do not agree that vital details regarding needs assessmentsandspending limitis are left to ministerial discretion rather than protected insidethe legislation.Ifthese changes passt as writtenmy family will face huge issues from inadequate supporttothecomplete burnoutof informal supports to financial hardship.I have two familymembersthat standtobeadramatically affectedby theBillas it standsandi tishocking thinking oft he possible effectson ourfamily.My husband has a Traumatic Brain Injuryf rom an accidentandy m year old sonhas AuDHD.Weare finally getting both off them usingsupport workers help buildcapacity withinin community which if funding f ront his removed theyboth w ill suffer withdrawlif ecommunitythey liv et belong too.The roll down effectsofthislimitintheplan s would bean increaseinisolationdepression and thereturno fsuicidal ideation.Iseriously believe th is governmentistrying toreducethenumbers o disabled people by simply removingthem fro moth earth.The NDIS need fixing butnot through this Bill in its current form. Please donot pass these reformswithout restoring full appeal rights enforce mandatory co design.Yours sincerely
