Please do not pass the NDIS Amendment Bill in its current form.

This will adversely affect my daughter and our family. This will take away her rights and choices and will be very traumatic for our family.

I would have to consider giving up work or reducing hours to ensure her needs are met which will place me in financial hardship and at risk of losing my home. My daughter is currently trying to live independently with support, reducing support and requiring me to assist more will place additional strain on our relationship.

I am very stressed at the thought of her having reduced services and lack of choice.

The thought of having someone who doesn’t know her just say this and this will now stop gives me cardiac palpitations. As an older carer I am trying to provide and manage support to encourage and enhance my daughters independence. We have no family, therefore no informal supports and she struggles to make connections with people.

The changes in the NDIS Amendment Bill provides too much power to an organisation and/or the Minister of the day.

I have literally had sleepless nights, wondering what both of our futures will look like. This is one very stressed Mum.
