My connection to this issue
I am a participant of NDIS. Having a trusted person step into my space provides the safety I need to navigate a world that is not built for my brain. These hours keep me safe, grounded, and out of emergency systems.
My overall view of this Bill
This Bill could cause an immense amount of damage to those whose life depends on this very structure. The “introducing the concept of ‘all appropriate treatment’” is not only damaging to those who are part of NDIS but it hurts the whole community of Disabled peoples, it’s telling us that the suffering we go through is not deserving of specialised help.

What your concern is
Why it matters to you
“Enable the Minister to reduce funding for specified groups of supports,” is a vague way to introduce funding cuts. Which specified groups are going to be disqualified? Whose job is it to rely on who should get reduced funding? Is there a fair way to go about this that doesn’t involve the participant to prove they are disabled? This matters because the whole point of NDIS is to help those who are in need of it. I need NDIS to cover the costs of my therapy and support because I can’t on my own. Having consistent support from someone who deeply

understands my neurodivergent and psychosocial needs is life-changing. Without it, my mental health rapidly deteriorates and the situation becomes a matter of survival.

What I want the committee to understand You can’t think of every situation as the same, two people with the same disability can experience a wide margin of differences. It is essential for those in charge of this major decision to listen to what we think of the very thing that helps us be able to live in this world. My support team keeps me tethered to the world. Without them, severe anxiety and executive paralysis mean I cannot leave my home, access the community safely, or manage basic human needs.

My position on this Bill I ask the Committee to understand that these funding cuts directly threaten my safety and my life. Please listen to our real stories and protect the daily supports that keep us alive and independent. If it’s a must to have this Bill then rework it so it’s not destructive to those whose lives it actually affects, because right now all this is going to do is ruin more lives then actually help.
