National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 2165 - Supplementary Submission

Hi,

I share my own experience as a participant. For early intervention support has helped my child, starting speaking at age three-and-a-half years old after being mute initially; now able to speak in single sentences without any prior contact history; as an individual living with disability: feeling no future ahead due to lack thereof; in terms of ndis supports enhancing capacity building leading towards catching up peers: current concerns about tightening eligibility criteria without transparent assessment tools or criteria; young children above eight-year-old not meeting thriving kids’ standards would be removed from n-dis system later on losing family members and son’s visits when aging; specifically traumatic childhood experiences making it difficult sharing such stories publicly; necessary government assistance filling gaps between disabled individuals like myself compared others around us; multiplying roles among participants including parenting responsibilities demanding active engagement beyond passive waiting for service providers arrival daily; developing independence within home environment essential part working process; even though progress is incremental maintaining commitment ensuring every day counts toward achieving goals; taking responsibility seriously regarding taxpayer funding received; daily motivation driving improvement and betterment; potential goal that used funds are borrowed nature requiring repayment through employment or alternative means contributing back into the scheme either via charity donations returning directly to NDIS itself, never taking financial aid granted but rather planning expenditure carefully. The issues surrounding numerous fraudulent practices by some providers persistently ignored by NDIS commissioner who rarely takes action most times doing nothing at all; a provider took my child’s entire plan fund in late 2023 posting personal privacy online despite no intervention taken merely issuing registration allowing them become registered providers, just one example of many instances where frauds occurred; others have reported receiving toys worth $150-250 during shifts which were asked returned instead billed under ndis funding even purchasing more items.

And I rejected the invoices from plan manager;the provider made complaints to NDIS commissioner.it actually resulted i received warning as participant’s parent.Because ’I’m’in scheme, and commission able obtain details. So,the have given providers all green lights do whatever want.do.But,in end just said was spent on or misused funding. Also had sent cleaners but experience training lit house fire.Had who damaged food processor doors during shifts third party contractors repair under ndis funding.I threatened truth get trouble.Even made complaint commissioners don’t really care anything.Would say acknowledgment. The current act can’t amend one single side limiting participants letting providers do whatever.Without any third-party organisation feedback resolutions. We are also humans even we disability it seems voice never heard. And with this submission.I’ve been thinking lot how write perspective legal perspective.decided share true experience. It important ndis life support family.don’t agree proposed bill didn’t consider human rights need.federal shouldn’t passed rush way later causing more harm families introduce new bill.keep name private allow public document.submission filed behalf child carers.urge committee consider damage/consequences caused by new bill.against basic needs if pass would damage Australia’s reputation world well.damage/cost is life risks of harm.child future uncertainty daily supports left nowhere practical solutions.
