Submission to the Senate Inquiry into the NDIS Future Generations Bill 2026

I am autistic / a parent / a carer / an NDIS participant / a family member / an ally, and I am writing to share my concerns about the NDIS Future Generations Bill 2026.

The NDIS is profoundly important to me, as it enables my children to access essential support services, assists me in maintaining my independence, provides necessary therapies and daily assistance, and supports our family’s overall wellbeing and ability to function effectively.

I am worried that the proposed changes could make it harder for people to access the supports they genuinely need. I am especially concerned about reduced choice and control, a lack of clarity, funding cuts, increased stress on families, impacts on autistic people, reassessments, and people falling through the gaps.

For many families and disabled people, the NDIS is not a luxury. It is essential for safety, wellbeing, participation, education, mental health, and everyday life.

I ask the Senate to carefully consider the real-life impact these changes may have on disabled people, carers, and families. Any reforms should be guided by consultation with the disability community and should protect the rights, dignity, and support needs of NDIS participants.
