Son's Core funding reduction impacting community access due to cerebral palsy quadraplegia (Family or carer experience)

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 2177

To whom it may concern: I wish to express my deep concerns about the big changes that the Albanese Government announced regarding NDIS changes in the lead up this year’s Budget. I want the Scheme to be sustainable and provide the services it was created to provide. I want the Government to address fraud and rorting. I want the Government to address the price guide. I want the Government to address providers scripting expensive equipment that ends up not fit for purpose. What I don’t want is a 30% reduction in my son’s Core - which supports his community access. He has cerebral palsy quadraplegia; non-verbal: nil-by-mouth PEG fed Confined-to-a manual wheelchair Incontinent-and-totally-reliant-on-support-worker-for-everything-he-wants-and-needs He has private vehicle funded by family allowing him access to-the-community because he doesn’t-fit on bus maxi taxi disability vehicles are few far unreliable Without support worker he can do nothing Not even scratch an itch. Without enough core funding get out of group home environment becomes one left-in-corner Isolated-depressed-because-no-voice Don’t turn back time-him.He absolutely deserves exactly what he now full happy life Dale Kennedy (mother/nominee) Mobile redacted
