National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 2318
2026-05 NDIS Future Generations Bill
Parliamentary submission
I am concerned that the NDIS Future Generations Bill 2026 will take money away from some NDIS recipients who desperately need it.
I’m asking you to please reconsider protecting self-management of personal packages, storing the appeal rights, and restoring these protections to the Bill.
I have seen first hand the tremendous benefit the NDIS has had, not just on the life of a profoundly disabled middle aged man but also his sister; she was her full time carer & subsequently regained part of herself due to this support system. Families taking up care roles are constantly worried about how others can continue providing such extensive round-the-clock care every day - which requires more than one job! It’s all-encompassing: food, clothing, entertainment etc., everything! My friend still spends considerable time caring for their brother with reduced burden as they now enjoy additional times together like fun activities or relaxing moments instead before. The NDIS is an excellent idea needing occasional adjustments we understand But don’t reduce hours needed by those truly in dire straits families were at breaking point prior to relief brought through NDIS and do NOT want return overwhelming stress again. Please protect self management restore appeal rights before presenting bill. Thank You.
