My name is and I live in . I am writing to you in relation to the NDIS Future Generations Bill 2026.

My wife and I are the parents of a forty years old son who was born with a relatively severe intellectual disability. He currently lives in a shared house in Brisbane as we now lack physical capacity to look after him at our home.He receives funding for Supported Independent Living, and is erroring residing i n north Brisbane wit h services provided b ya registeredN DIS provider. In order fo rhim t oengage fully w ithsociety,a proportionofhisNDISfundingpackagei susedto go outon adailybasiswithasupportworker, toparticipateinvariousactivities.Thisisan essential parto fpreventing disengagementandsolationfrom society. Weare extremely concerned thattheproposed5%cuttosocialanda ndcommunityparticipation funding from October 2026 will reduce his funding anda dverselyreducehisorportunities toe ngagew it hsocietyonadailymbasis,withsignificantissuesoisolat ionpotentiallyarisingI respectfully ask th eCommitteeto recommendthatthestoposedspecificreductioninfund ing is removed.
