NDIS amendment (securing the NDIS for future generations) Bill 2026
Submission
If the NDIS supports are significantly reduced or removed, my concerns would be as follows. These concerns are not because of a lack of ability, but because we are currently relying on a level of support.
The impacts will be:
- worsening educational participation
- worsening anxiety and burnout
- increased risks of self-harm or escalation
- reduced developments of independence skills
- increased social isolation
- significantly increased caregiving requirements on my family, and likely deterioration on my family’s physical and mental health due to increased caring demands
- There will be increased pressure on the school and school support structures likely leading to decreased options
- Increased pressures on teachers and teacher aides and SSOs leading to struggles differentiating curriculum and less individualised care and supports
Thank you for considering my opinion in this important decision.
