Submission 2404 The disabled community deserve dignity, respect and as much support as needed to live complete and fulfilling lives, whatever that looks like for them. Part of this is agency and autonomy in their care received. Ultimately the NDIS should be about the people who need support, rather it’s been a practice of mismanagement by government funnelling taxpayer money to operators who exploit the vulnerable. This is intentional mismanagement, freely handling funds to unvetted companies and the persons needing support completely disregarded. Rather than applying appropriate oversight to the quality and level of actual care provided (including qualifications and value), it’s being used as an excuse to cut services altogether. I expect my taxes to go to those in the community who need help, but the intentional mismanagement by government is being used as a poor excuse to provide subpar neoliberal services. Both participants and taxpayers alike are receiving subpar outcomes with the whole exercise used as a profit making venture. The community deserve a robust government
