National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 2464
Submission on the NDIS Amendment Bill
Name:
I am a secondary school teacher in Brunswick, working with disadvantaged and neurodiverse students.
My main concern about this Bill is that high schools are already underfunded and over stressed, and the NDIS supports are a significant help for those students. If those supports are removed or further limited, this will cause active harm to not only the affected students, but available resources for other students. It is a genuine threat to learning standards across Victoria.
The committee must understand that NDIS supports help not only the individuals directly supported, but also parents, teachers, support workers, and all those in their orbits. Money spent on the NDIS has ripple effects that create value across society.
There are significant issues with some of the ways the NDIS is implemented, but this Bill targets the wrong areas, and attacks disadvantaged innocents. It’s bad policy, driven by media beatups, and should be rejected.
Thank you,
