National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 2557
STOP THE NDIS BILL AMENDMENT!!!
If this Bill is passed then life in the disability sector is gunna be a whole lot worse. Parents and carers are already struggling. Parental responsibility has been used as an excuse not to find plans and cause further harm and burnout. Parents considering relinquishing their loved ones, into a system that does not have he capacity, as it is, to support vulnerable people.
Removing people’s rights for choice and control in fact harms the people it is supposed to support. Removing choice and control, harms people with disability.
Not funding support beyond parental responsibility WILL further result in harm to parents carers and their person with disability. Funding support workers in family homes, finding respite to support informal carers saves the government thousands of dollars a year. Not funding these supports will cost far more in the long run.
Funding allows parents and carers to work, when they can. Funding allows people with disability to work when they can. Working provides income and contributes the the taxes of the government to pay for services. We are in fact, providing funding support for ourselves when we work and contribute financially and economically and socially to our community. Funding can support our loved ones to gain employment skills in a safe and supported environment, reducing long term reliance on NDIS. Was this not the whole point of NDIS, to build skills and capacity and independence????
There are people who have high supports and those too have been taken away. Life’s hanging in the balance and many more lives will be lost by NDIS cuts. Is the government happy with this means of population control???
Members of Parliament should take up the many offers of “Live a week in my house and see the Life we live”. It is not a life of luxury. To be told to tighten belts, to pull your weight, when parliamentarians do the complete opposite and the Prime Minister flies around In a private jet, hypocrisy.
Does the NDIS need an overhaul, for sure. But stop attacking the participants and go after the fraudsters, charge them and sell their assets gained through NDIS and repay the millions of dollars taken from fraudulent businesses.
Do better!!!
