National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 2619
Submission on the NDIS Amendment Bill
Name:
I am a disabled person with an NDIS plan
My main concern about this Bill is loss of independence for participants, loss of life in extreme circumstances, financial, psychological and physical stress due to limited access to supportive interventions.
This Bill will affect me / people I support because changing the NDIS without due consideration will severely affect the quality of life of participants.
One example from my experience; I am able to access life saving psychological support that I would otherwise not be able to access due to financial constraints.
What I want the committee to understand is: people with disabilities are valuable members of society, we deserve the right to thrive in our communities and have the opportunities to contribute to our communities. Without supports and interventions, we become a burden, we become unable to participate, we become isolated. We deserve to be seen as individuals with individual needs
I have serious concerns over the potential passing of this bill.
Because people die without interventions, life is lost. People end up being forced to choose between a meal or a life saving intervention.
