Concerns about inadequate support leading to preventable deaths (Participant experience)

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 2655

Submission on the NDIS Amendment Bill

Name: I am a Disabled person

My main concern about this Bill is: More disabled people will die. Ndis already a punitive System that is inadequate, that disabled ppl have to jump through hoops to prove worthiness of keeping them alive (yes even the very highest support needs disabled people have to do this and fight funding cuts to their plans). Ndis is incredibly difficult to access for anyone multiple marginalised, especially first nations disabled people.

This Bill may affect me because: Im already struggling to have my needs recognised and supported to the level i need.

One example from my experience: Being left unwashed months at a time and having to take risks to my safety against my OT reports and workers safety to be cleaned. Ongoing still.

What I want the committee to understand is: It is incredibly hard for disabled ppl to fight for our rights as we are lacking the daily supports and access to daily living that abled people have. It is so difficult for me to even make this submission . The government doesn’t get to hear all our voices because we dont have equality to access it.

My position on this Bill: I do not support it and I have serious concerns

Because: demonstrates a eugenics approach to letting disabled die without support, whether acute deaths or slower and chronic. More Hospital admissions where disabled ppl are abused and blamed for taking up beds abandoned are too complex to be looked after in the health system.

Cut to community participation echoes the ugly laws from the USA which criminalised disabled ppl for appearing in public.

This government just wants us to be in institutions again and die because we aren’t seen as worthy of tax payer money
