Flawed rationale due to provider fraud (Individual advocacy)

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 2691

NDIS Submission 1 June 2026

  1. The proposed cuts to the NDIS while defence spending is going up is an attempt to get the most vulnerable people in society to pay for the expenditure to armaments manufacturers.

  2. The rate for fraud by NDIS recipients is less than the rate for unemployment benefit recipients.

    1. This is because the recipients rarely commit fraud. It is the providers that do.
  3. Therefore the rationale behind the cuts is flawed.
