National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 2751
Dear the Community Affairs Legislation Committee,
My name is . I live in . I like reading, singing, listening to music,
swimming, spending time with my pets and friends, cooking, watching movies and TV, and colouring.
My submission is not as detailed as I would like, due to the fact that I have not had enough time to complete it, as I have a very large number of health appointments. However, I still wanted to submit something.
I am a participant of the NDIS. I oppose the new NDIS bill.
The NDIS has given me independence, has allowed me to be part of my family and has allowed me to be part of my community.
If the NDIS did not give me the support I need, I would not get the support I need to be well and healthy. I would be at risk of further burnout, skill regression, capacity regression, suicidal ideation and suicide, self-harm, neglect, abuse, and isolation. I would not be able to go out into my community, be part of my family or be independent.
I am worried about losing support to go out of my home, use my trusted support workers, the impact of my mental and physical health, my skill and capacity development, and the NDIA having powers to come into my home and investigate me.
The bill in its current form is harmful and shout not be passed by Parliament.
Thank you very much for your consideration,
