National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 2763
To whom it may concern,
My name is , I currently live in West Footscray, and I am writing this submission on behalf of my girlfriend, Z. Z is an amazing person, she is bright, funny and incredibly kind. Z is an NDIS participant, and because of the potentially disastrous impact the new NDIS bill would have on her quality of life, I strongly oppose it. The NDIS has allowed Z to accomplish so many things, from being able to get out of the house and get her groceries, to finding and being a key part of a wonderful community of other disabled people. Without the support currently available to her only through the NDIS, Z would lose her access to the community, would likely become house-bound and her health would suffer. The impact of her disabilities would increase in severity. I am worried for this wonderful person, who I love and care about, suffering and losing any kind of quality of life as a result of this bill. I am worried about her health and well-being declining to a point from which she will not be able to recover. This bill is harmful; it should not be passed by parliament in its current form. This submission barely scratches the surface of what I would like to say, however I have not had the time to write a more detailed one.
I will reiterate: this bill is nothing but harmful in its current form, please do not allow it to pass into law.
Regards,
.
