Difficulty accessing systems due to complexity (Family or carer experience)

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 2808

Submission on the NDIS Amendment Bill

Name: Jamie Pingo

I am a: Family member / supporter

My main concern about this Bill is:

Lack of consideration about the ability to access the plans, if they’re not able to be contacted for valid reasons. Additionally, more standardisation/automation will result in automatic rejections of people who would be otherwise able to be helped

This Bill may affect me / people I support because:

● Reduced access ● Reduced ability to assess/reassess

What I want the committee to understand is:

That it’s an uphill battle always and that reducing ability to access is not the solution. I understand that there’s a lot of financial issues surrounding it, but the solution is finding funds elsewhere, not reducing access, because the amount of people needing that access isn’t really going to be reduced.

My position on this Bill: ☐ I have serious concerns

Because:

I think it fails to consider the human side of accessing the systems and how difficult it is already.
