National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 2909
Submission on the NDIS Amendment Bill
Name: I am a: Family member of an NDIS participant, as well as an employee of an NDIS
Provider
My main concern about this Bill is: Adding significantly more hurdles by the way of Increased administrative and compliance requirements, to NDIS participants who have already proven their disabilities in joining the scheme. Requesting participants to prove lifelong disabilities at each plan is ridiculous, invasive, and disrespectful.
This Bill may impact participants because: There are many participants who are unable to respond to the NDIA’s timeframes due to being hospitalised, unable to communicate due to disability, are without support to manage communication, or are experiencing instability due to housing or mental ill-health
What I want the committee to understand is: Australians with disabilities should never be the first option when cost cutting government spending. It is truly disappointing that the current government have chosen this path, but it is not too late to reconsider.
My position on this Bill: I ask that the Government withdraw this Bill to show the Australian public that the same Labor party who introduced the NDIS also supports it, and has not become a Liberal party in disguise.
