Submission 2969 — Name Withheld — NDIS Future Generations Bill

National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026

Submission 2969

Hi,

While I appreciate the need to look at fraud and rorts going on in the NDIS you have seriously got it wrong in this new bill. This bill isfull of hidden bombs for people with a disability. The initial idea of NDIS was person centred and individualistic. You have neutered both. Placing the medical model of disability on the table once again. We are back to the horrors of the state based systems of old.

This bill needs to be taken off the table and rethought. Tackling the fraud and rorts and shonky providers should be number one priority.

What you SHOULDN’T be doing is penalising PWD for being disabled and needing support. What you SHOULDN’T be doing is using NDIS money to balance your budget and calling cuts to disabled people’s lives as SAVINGS. There are a few things you could do before destroying disabled people’s futures, like taxing the fossil fuel companies, cutting out completely negative gearing and the CGT discount. I could go on. The list is endless of corporate advantage at the top

Stop using the weak to make your budget look better. Stop helping the 1% get richer. Start providing for ordinary Australians of which 40% are disabled.. and they work and pay taxes too. Anyone can become disabled. It might be you.

Please do the right thing for the majority of the people of this land. Do not take away disabled people’s right to a life lived in the best way they are able.

Thanks
