National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026
Submission 3003
My name is and I live in Melbourne. I used to work in allied health but had to leave the profession due to chronic pain. I am not an NDIS participant and I hope I will not deteriorate, can continue to manage my chronic pain without support, as if this bill passes in in its current form, there will be no future for people who experience reduced capacity, become disabled and need support. This bill kills the NDIS, I oppose it.
I have many friends who rely on the program for support; they would not be able to socialise with me if it weren’t for the NDIS. The current supports are crucial for any meaningful quality of life for disabled people with high needs. I don’t want my friends to suffer a reduction in the supports they can access, a reduction in their quality of life and subsequent worsening health, mental health and wellbeing outcomes. This bill, passing in its current form would be devastating for all I know.
I am aware that submissions were extended by a few days but the community has not had time to address this massive bill, comment meaningfully on these proposed changes, this submission is not detailed as I would like but the time didn’t allow.
This bill in its current form is harmful and should not be passed in parliament. Please listen to the community of NDIS participants and their supporters.
Thank you,
